Jimmy Brown, a local Civil War reenactor, has become the youngest person to receive the Centre County Historical Society Preservation Award. He is now 24, and has been reenacting since he was 3 years-old. He received the award in the category of History & Heritage, Preservation & Restoration, Education & Advocacy and Support & Volunteerism. He works as a para-educator at Penns Valley High School where he provides Civil War History presentations. He is active in Hampton's Battery F.
